Using RSS Search Tools is like a dog digging through lots of dirt and chances are you will find something that is good and interesting. It just takes time.Bloglines Search tool is the easiest. Syndic8 is the most confusing. Other tools which I found were "Search4rss" and "News is free" but they were slower than my old obsessive Mom. ( only kidding..)
Topix was a useful search tool when trying to find local news about Exton and nearby news. I found a Staffordshire Terrier Club in Reading that my Moms could join.
